So sorry to blog with food in my mouth!

I just cant keep my hands off of the Turtle Chex Mix Bars. They are fabulos!! Absolutley Fabulos!! MMMMMmmmmmmm.....OOOOOOOOoooooooo.......

Okay that was the last bite...Sorry!! Down to business!!

So last week, My Blog Spark sent me TWO boxes of the new Chex Mix Bars from General Mills, which are available in two varieties, Turtle and Chocolate Chunk. Seeing as how, Carmel is one of my weaknesses...I was a stingy mommy and did not share many of my YUMMY Turtle bars!!!!

They are oooooo soooooo GOOD, and Weight Watcher Friendly at only 130 calories a bar. Plus, they are a good source of whole grains containing 8 grams per serving, also...they contain no trans fats. But asides from all of the healthy good for you stuff...THEY ARE JUST GOOD!!!!!!

I am absolutely IN LOVE with Insta-Dri!! It is the BEST polish I have used in a long time...It does exactly what it says it will do!! DRY Quickly!! I do not have time to sit around and wait for my nails to dry...and I sure do not have time to paint my nails all the time...I am a one coat and leave it kinda girl...

The brush is the BEST part....I wish every nail polish had that brush!!! It really does all the work for you....

The brush is rectangular and tapered...it is GREAT!!!

My one and only 'complaint' is that the polish is very thick...if you are not quick with the application you could end up with a globby mess....

Also, you really do only need ONE Coat...

Finally, a "good-for-you" make-up line I can find at the drugstore!!!

Everywhere I looked, there were articles about how we all needed to go natural.

It was easy to switch our cleaning products, food, and even clothes.

However, to switch your make-up you had to stay up late and watch infomercials....Not my idea of shopping!!

Then one day I was checking out the make-up isle at CVS....and what do I find??? Sally Hansen make-up!! Yes, make-up!!

I am sure you are saying...'Goofy, they have had that out for months!'...Well, yes...they have, but when you live in my TINY little beach city....you are often the last to know!!!

Anyway...back to the make-up....at my local CVS they only had about 6 products on the shelve...I looked through and purchased the PINK LUSTER Natural Highligher.
I have used it every day since May!! I LOVE IT!! It is creamy and soooo easy to apply. It just blends right in...leaves a touch of shimmer...

Well, THEN...one of my NEW Favorite PR agents told me she also handles Sally Hansen...AND would I like to sample any....WOULD I EVER!!!!!

She sent me a box of eyeshadow palettes and more highlighter and lipgloss...I tell ya I was as happy as a child on Christmas morning!! I could not wait to try them all!!! Here are my favorite s!!

The colors are very natural and light...the shadow is creamy and blendable. For a night on the town, the colors are buildable for a more dramatic eye... You either LOVE it or you HATE it....CoverGirl's LashBlast!!

The main cause of debate would have to be the wand size. I have to admit that it is the one and only complaint I have...

LashBlast LUXE comes in GREAT colors that are not overpowering.

Black Cabernet is a sparkly purplish color.

Black Royale has a GREAT navy tint.

Black Emerald has a greenish tint.

Black Platinum is my favorite...Dark BLACK....

In all of the shades, there is a touch of shimmer, but it is not so glittery that you feel like you are dressed up for Halloween.

Applying the LashBlast is just a bit tricky, but once you get use to the super fat wand...it is one of the BEST 'drugstore' mascaras on the market...

Here is my COVERGIRL LOOK....

For those who can not get use to the BIG Wand...CoverGirl has another line of mascaras...
Exact EYE LIGHTS...I like this line, however...I prefer the intensity of the LashBlast line.

The 3rd CoverGirl product I will review this week is OutLast LipStain.....

If you have not guessed....I LOVE all things COVERGIRL!! I am a huge fan!!

In my lifetime, I have gone from dirt poor to excessive wealth, and now...happily middle class - making ends meet...

Through all of the fluctuations in my bank balance, I have worn everything from Dior to Wet'n'Wild. I now know that there are certain items that are worth the extra money; and then there are other items that it is perfectly okay to skimp on the high prices!!

Now a days, I spend my money on Moisturizers and specialty products, like primers...BUT for the rest of my make-up I have no problem going to my local CVS...they have the BEST deals!!

I love the CoverGirl products because, when you spend your $5-10 dollars on a product, you are getting the quality of a $30-40 highend product.

I have about 3 other 'staining' products and NONE of those department store products work as well as the CoverGirl OutLast LipStain.

I have had a LOVE hate relationship with EYELINER ever since I was a Preteen and I stabbed myself in the eye with a 99 cent Wet'n'Wild Eyeliner....

In my OLDer age I have learned you get what you pay for....Well, and I have also learned how to apply liner!! That helps!!

Perfect Blend eyeliner by CoverGirl is the best 'drugstore' eyeliner on the market!!! In the days of tight economics were are all looking for the best bang for our buck!! Perfect Blend is a soft Khol pencil that can be applied in a thick or thin line...If you choose to apply in a thin line...I advise you to have a sharp point sharpened on your pencil. Regaurdless, after lining your eyes, you have the option for smudging it out,,,for the PERFECT smokey look.

I have read comments, stating that their eyeliner always 'runs' and makes them look like a racoon....if that happens to you....

**TIP**

Eyeliner is an oil based product, so when you wear it all day...it will smear...that is why it is important to cover your eyeliner with a powder product...like EyeShadow...if you are lining your eyes in black, then do a light coat of blackish eyeshadow on top...The liner will stay all day and look perfect!! The shadow also helps to cover any mistakes made!!

Day 1 of the GREAT MAKE-UP BAG Reviews and GIVEAWAY!!!!

You have all seen the ELLEN commercials and heard her talk about the best foundation ever....there is even a video floating around of her teaching her audience 'how to open' the foundation....

When picking your shade....important to note your undertone. I tried 2 SIMPLY AGELESS shades before I landed on my perfect match: Natural Beige 240. The foundation does run a little lighter than others...which is good, because I am normally stuck with orangie gunk!!

When looking at the order of the jars on the shelf, I thought for sure this one would be too dark, but because it has yellow undertones, it totally works! The lighter shades have more pink in them, which may be why they may seem too light...

As for the application, finish, and staying power, LOVE IT. Goes on creamy and smooth. It is buildable and I also LOVE the Blendability. When applying the foundation it diffuses out to a soft airbrushed finish, while still giving adequate coverage. I even use my fingertip to dab directly onto blemishes. Bye-bye thick concealer!

My daughter LuvBug, LOVES to have her nails painted!! She is a Girlie Girl like no other...

I had the pleasure of receiving two products from their Eye Candy Collection. I was sent a Padfolio and an Organizational Folder.

The colors are super bright and LOTS of fun!! At first glance I could tell that the products were made with great quality and will withstand tons of use.

The Organizational Folder features 8 full sized pockets made out of durable plastic...I love the flower pattern on the cover...so bright and funky!!

The turquoise patten leather Padfolio is my favorite!! It came with the cutest coordinating spiral notepad. There are LOTS of pockets to fill my padfolio with all of the essential items needed,
I am even able to add a personal planner!! The padfolio is also the PERFECT size to toss in my purse for on the go needs!!

CuteyBaby...Custom Wall Decals

I received the absolute CUTEST wall Decals!! Ada over at Cutey Baby, custom designed a set of wall decals for my daughter.

The process was VERY sally very smooth and really very fast!! One minute I was complementing a picture on twitter...the next I was applying the decals and taking my own pictures...to share on twitter...

Ada asked me a few questions about room color and design theme...then about two days later she
had the proofs ready to go...I was amazed at her speed and creativity!!

LuvBug is a true GIRLY GIRL....she loves all things PINK and PURPLE...Flowers and Swirls...ladybugs and dragonflies...

The decals are super easy to apply...So, easy a 6 year old can do it!!

She decided it was time to cover up her art work...
Have I mentioned I have a crafty creative girl??
Who use to draw on her walls...

The sheet of custom decals was 18x48 inches ...every inch was covered with usable flower decals...The huge decal with LuvBug's name covers the top of my stove...it is BIG!!!!

The decals are VERY easy to use...Ada recommends a flat smooth surface, our walls have a tiny bit of texture...the decals still stuck!! I did clean the walls prior to applying the decals.

I have had the GREAT pleasure of trying out a NEW product....

I have thoroughly enjoyed testing and pampering myself with the Coolest New Brand of Hair Products.....

I was able to test the Shampooing Potion, Conditioning Potion, Retro-Bonding Remedy, and Glazz.

The Shampoo and Conditioner were formulated for every hair type, and chemical usage... Both products had a light fruity sent...and left my hair feeling like silk!! SUN Laundry Detergent [CLOSED]

My battle with laundry continues....

Laundry has officially kicked my butt....I am crawling out from under my piles...

I recently received a sample of SUN Laundry Detergent. I used the product on several loads of laundry. Mostly my husband stinky work clothes...

I have to say that on his clothes I was not very impressed. I noticed that the sweaty B.O. smell did not completely disappear. His clothes smelled like they were sprayed with an air freshener. I do not recommend SUN for dirty stinky work clothes.

However, SUN Laundry Detergent did work fairly well on my clothes and the kids clothes. There were a few stains that did not come completely out...After, treating the stains again and rewashing, the stains were gone.

I really liked the softness of my sheets and towels. I would recommend using SUN for all of your linens. The loads of sheets were very soft and had a nice light fragrance.

Along with the sample bottle of SUN, I was also given 4 free bottle coupons to give away.

My goal for this year to be as green as I can...I have not done as great as I could, but I am trying...If more people would at least try, we could slowly make a HUGE difference!!

I was able to try the Lemongrass Soap. It has left my skin so soft and clean. I do not have that soapy film feeling. The lemon scent is so refreshing and energizing.

I seriously want to order every soap that they produce and at $4.00 a bar that is a great price!!!

All ecostore USA soaps are created from pure vegetable oils and natural fragrances. They are gentle on the skin and perfect for the kids too. Our cleansing Lemongrass soap is the perfect soap for the whole family. Lemongrass oil is soothing and leaves a pleasant, light lemon scent. (2.7 ounces)

Sodium Palmate (palm oil)
Sodium Cocoate(coconut oil)
Sodium chloride (salt)
Vegetable Glycerine
Tetra Sodium Etidronate and Tetra Sodium EDTA
(antioxidants used to preserve the stability of vegetable oils in soap base. Derived from vinegar. Safe for skin)
Lemongrass oil
Titanium Dioxide

I was also able to try the Citrus Spray Cleaner. The cleaner is naturally antibiotic. It has a light citrus scent. That is not overpowering or irritating to your nose.

My husband has horrible allergies and HATES all smells!! I am the only woman on earth who does not have froo-froo candles and lotions galore. I am very picky about the cleaning products that I purchase. Honestly, I clean almost everything with vinegar. Because of my husbands allergies, I stand in the cleaning product aisles for hours…opening and smelling all the products.

As soon as the ECO Store sent me the products, I had my husband smell both products. He did not automatically start sneezing, so I knew it would be a go….Then, the next night we were cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and he actually said..”Hey, I like this stuff..”

I am writting tonight with a sad heart. One of my best Bloggy friends Manic Mother is sitting in the hospital right now with her little Ezra. He was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on Thursday. Beth is posting as she can.

Beth and her family are in financial need...They are a single income family, her husband works part-time and goes to college full time, she stays home with the kiddos...PLEASE lets rally together.

Time is a precious thing in my house....I never have enough time.
We are always 5 minutes late for everything!!!

Housework takes up a lot on my time!! My washer washes faster than my dryer can keep up...The kids dirty dishes faster than my dishwasher can keep up...The top shelve of my fridge freezes items faster than the freezer can freeze.

I am telling you TIME IS PRECIOUS!!!

Military Families...

I have been trying to write a post about my mother...it is harder than I thought it would be. One day it will be published.

Please be patient....

In the mean time....
I have to tell you about what happened this weekend....

Mom's Fortress of Solitude left the BEST comment on my muvee Reveal giveaway. I was sooo moved that I immediately forwarded that comment to the muvee PR contact Lindsey. She was also moved by the comment. I am so honored to announce that I was able to award Mom's Fortress of Solitude with a copy of the muvee Reveal software.

I have MANY military friends. I have watched them say goodbye to their friends, their husbands, and their family....
I think that we as civilians, do not ever think about the family life of the soldiers who are so bravely protecting us.

Yes, I have heard the argument that they signed up for it...that it is their choice...but it was not their children's choice, it was not the grandmother's choice, or the best friend's choice.

So please, say an extra prayer for those military families in your life today....Not only for the soldiers, but also their families and their loved ones...

HELP!!!!
I am being swallowed alive by my pile of laundry!!!!

Do you ever feel like that???
That is you have to sort out one more pile of socks, or hang one more shirt you will scream!!! Have you gone to bed and then remembered you have a load of colors in the washer....

UUUUUUGH...have you ever left a wet load of laundry in the washer tooo long and it smelled!! It is hell to get that smell out!!!

As much as I wish I was posting to tell you about a new robot that does all your laundry for you...
I am not! Ohh, but wouldn't that be nice....

Tonight I am honored to introduce you to my NEWEST Best Friend in the housekeeping arena...

Never would I think that something so small could work that good!!! The laundry sheets got out my daughter's week old chocolate milk stain...

The clothes were soft and smelled so good!! I was truly impressed!!

I live in a SUPER hot and muggy climate.... 11 months out of the year. One Christmas it snowed, the next it was 80 degrees. Living in South Texas, I do not know what to do with all of the changes. Most people have a box of winter clothes and a box of summer clothes. I have never had the luxury of packing away the flip flops...

We can wake up to a 45 degree cold front, but by bedtime it is back up to 80 degrees. So, walking into Dillard in September and the ONLY clothes on the rack are thick cable knit sweaters ...just doesn't work for me... We need jackets, varying degrees of jackets...I prefer lots of layers...You can always strip off the layers.

In my end of season search for cool clearance layering clothes, I found the best clothing line....Linen Kids. My son is a nut about his clothes...they all have to be COMFY...nothing can be: binding, restricting, or stiff. My daughter wants to be 'Fashion'...."Momma", she say, "is this Fashion??" Holding up a Hannah Montana T-Shirt..."Well, yes LuvBug, That is fashionable"

So, in my search, for children approved clothing, I came across this Fashionable Cloak....I immediately fell in love with it...It has a handmade Ladybug and Flowers Appliqued to the front and back. It has a hood to protect her neck and ears from the wind. It is plenty big enough to wear several layers underneath, and she wont be stuffed into a coat. She will be able to quickly unlayer or re-layer, depending on her needs.... This cloak is 100% wool and ohhhh, so soft!!!! Being wool, it will keep her warm, even if it is damp outside.

So, keeping with yesterday's post, I decided I would give you my opinion of TWO very popular mascaras. You may or will soon realize I am a bit of a Make-Up Junkie!! I love make-up...specially GOOD make-up that does what it says it will do!!

Today I am comparing L'Oreal's Double Extend Lash Extension Effect Mascara to CoverGirl's Lash Blast.

Both of these products are readily available and relatively inexpensive. L'Oreal was about $10.00 and the CoverGirl was about $9.00.

They both come in a waterproof version and various colors.

Okay, lets get on with the pictures!!!

Me and my eyes!!

The L'Oreal is a TWO step process...
The 1st Step is the 'Extension Tube'
FYI: Little Goes a Long Way!!
The first time I used this product,
I applied too much of the Tube stuff and my lashes were all gooped up..

The 2nd Step is the actual mascara...
First thing that I noticed...
There is added length, not very much volume

The CoverGirl...
The wand is very fat, makes it a little difficult to handle

Can you see a Difference??

In my humble opinion, neither one screamed WOW at me...
There are pro's and con's to both.

I really like the added length with L'Oreal, however the 2-step process is time consuming...If I am just running to the store...I want a quick 5 second face, a little powder, Mascara, and Lip Gloss...I did not like the lack of volume. Maybe, since my first gooped mistake, I have not been using enough?? But you really do have to use a lot of the Black Tint to cover all the white...so there should be more volume...I

I really like the volume with CoverGirl. I feel that my lashes looked fuller and not longer, but darker..it works well with what you have. It is also quick and easy. CoverGirl's only main draw back is the wand. It is VERY fat...I usually can hold a wand in about 20 different positions to get to all my lashes. I had a difficult time positioning the wand because it is so fat.

If I only had $10.00 and needed mascara, I would purchase the Cover Girl's Lash Blast.

Can YOU Explain?? Lash Extensions

Dear Eyelash Extension Consumer,

Is it true that you spend your time going to a salon to pay $250.00 or more to have individual fake lashes glued on to your lashes? Do you really let a cosmetologist meticulously attached one lash extension to one natural lash at a time for all 60-100ish of YOUR lashes? Is it true that the cosmetologist has to stand there for about two hours gluing lashes on your eyes? Is it true that you have to do this every 2 months?

Do you really have nothing better to do with your money or time? I am not even gonna get into the vanity of this issue....I am just wondering about the cost..or should I say the waste... of your money and time.

So, you pay about $850.00 a year to have fake eyelashes. I am not counting the special make-ups and cleaners you have to purchase. Do you REALLY have so much extra money in your budget that you do not blink at the outrageous cost of this up keep. Are you blind or oblivious to the issues of our country?

Did you not watch the news and see that hundreds, if not thousands of people are homeless?

Did you not read the newspaper article that stated our Food Bank's shelves are bare?

Or what about the story about the nation's Teachers who use there already TOO SMALL income to purchase classroom supplies.

Maybe you just do not know where to go? I have a few suggestion on where you can go to get rid of all that extra money in your wallet, since obviously you do not know.

Eyelash Extension Consumer, I am sure now that you have somewhere to take your money, now you are wondering what you should do with your time....

I am gonna offer you one suggestion, which is near and dear to my heart, Children's Hospital. Every city has one, and every hospital needs volunteers. There is a variety of activities you could do in a children's hospital...you would never get bored. Oh, and children do not care how long your lashes are, so do not worry about that...

Not many things make me happy...I guess you could say I am a picky person, hard to please, stubborn, gee...I could go and on, but I digress...

So, I was at Target this weekend and found the coolest new lipstick. I have a growing collection of make-up...I swear one day I will return to wearing it on a daily basis...for now I am building my favorites...

Have you seen this...It is COVERGIRL's Outlast Lipstain

Here is what COVERGIRL says...

Okay, I have purchased almost every type of 12 hour lipstick there is...They never last as long as they say and they feel like goop on your lips..I have always ended up donating it to a woman's shelter...

NOT THIS!! COVERGIRL's Outlast Lipstain is a completely different product!! First you think..
What?!? It is a marker...Well, Yes it has a felt tip, and the liquid that comes out does seem a bit like a marker's ink...but then once it dries in place (about 5 seconds) it is completely 'Stained' on your lips!!

I have to worn you..it is a stain and if you mess-up it doesn't come off by wiping...so practice using the product first... You wouldn't want to look like the Joker on your way out on a date...

I am completely impressed with COVERGIRL, they have made a product that really does what it says...There is no need for liners because the felt tip is perfect...There is no goopy feeling, and it DOES stay on... 5, maybe 6 hours!! I apply the stain and then use my fave lip plumper gloss..It is PERFECT!!!!

There are 10 colors to choose from, I have purchased the Everbloom Kiss...which was VERY VERY red on my complexion, and then the Cinnamon Smile...which was a perfect shade of nuetral for me....

I really can not say enough about how I am impressed with COVERGIRL's Lipstain...

What is Fishful Thinking?

As a parent, I want my little bugs to grow up to be happy and successful. I did not have the guidance I needed as a child to believe that, that would be an option. And now as a mother, I often feel that I lack the skills to ensure the total well being, that I hope my children have.

We learn our parenting skills from what was role modeled to us, I had no role model to speak of, so I guess you could say I am flying by the seat of my pants.

I went to college to be a teacher, so I have the book smarts..I read and still read all of the how-to books, but still I feel I could do more to improve my hands-on approaches. We as a family could do more to improve. I often her my daughter 'gripping' at my son, and think..."OHHHH! Do I sound like that?" At times, she sounds so negative and harsh....

So, while I was surfing the net trying to find ways to improve, I came across Fishful Thinking, After some research and implementing a few of the activities I found on the site, I became a Fishful Thinking Ambassador.

I have found so many helpful and fun activities. The Fishful Thinking website has many games for the kids and lots of parent advice.

Please take a few moments to read over the site, play some of the games, and implement the tools they are trying to share.

I have LOST 10 pounds

I am tooting my horn again!!! No, but really I have lost 10 pounds!! In what 10 or so days?? I am just shouting it from the roof tops!! I have a lot to loose!! Being in the low that I was, I comforted myself with food....Ben and Jerry's was my best friend!!

Now, my best friend is Lean Cuisine Panini Chicken Club!!! I really do not like eating the processed frozen foods. The chicken never looks like real chicken and it is always rubbery....Well, not with this new entree from Lean Cuisine.

I was surprisingly full half way through the sandwich. It has ample amount of chicken, thick bread, and real cheese. There is also tomatoes and bacon, but the flavor of the bread, chicken , and cheese overpower the tomato and bacon.

Normally, when I microwave any type of bread product, I end up with a brick. Not the case with the Panini. The bread was soft and lightly toasted!!

I have eaten this product almost everyday for two weeks...They have lots more to choose from, but I am really picky! I am scared to spend the money on something I am not sure I will like.

I am not contributing my weight loss to this product alone, I am just saying that with the new medicine and my lack of desire for food...this product has really been great. You should also know that I eat 1/2 a bag of mixed salad greens with the sandwich.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my thrill as much as I am enjoying losing the 10 pounds!!!
